This technical memo gives a summary of all Skagit River System Cooperative (SRSC) activities
for 2023 in the Port Susan Bay, specifically reporting on Task 1 and Task 2 of contract # WA-C220215-048. The summary includes description of water surface elevations measurements and
observations of fish and habitat conditions at sites across Port Susan Bay to complete two study
objectives: 1) evaluate restoration efforts within the Hatt Slough restoration project where 2023
data collection provides a final year of pre-restoration information and 2) to understand changes
to landscape connectivity via construction of new delta distributaries influences juvenile
Chinook salmon density and growth potential. The work in Port Susan Bay is a collaboration
between SRSC, The Nature Conservancy, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and
Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians.
